0 3

Fadlan Holao, an Indonesian TikTok star/Instaceleb, recently made headlines after posting several photos and videos on Instagram that expressed his intention to end his life.

The 20-year-old internet celebrity posted a series of Instagram stories on Sunday, with text captions against a backdrop of a wall and a ceiling.

“Does anyone want to kill me? I’m tired of living. I’m worthless. Hehe,” the caption reads.

“Please forgive Fadlan,he wrote in another story.

Fadlan also posted a photo of his wounded arm, which appeared to be slashed. He then uploaded a photo of him crying to his Instagram feed along with a caption that reads, “I want to die,” though the post has since been taken down.

Many of his fans, and other public figures alike, tried to reach Fadlan in the comments section. Yesterday, Fadlan posted an update on Instagram and thanked everyone who has helped him.

Alhamdulillah (thank God), I survived, and [I am] healed. Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful, I’m surrounded by people who are so kind and supportive. Thank you to all friends who lifted my spirit and prayed for me. That’s really kind, and helpful,” Fadlan wrote on an Instagram story.

“I would also like to apologize if yesterday’s incident made you guys panic, or harmed by those posts. Once again, I would like to apologize and thank you all. Hopefully your kindness will return to you with bigger things.”

Despite many negative comments that accused him of chasing clout using his mental health condition, Fadlan has received an outpouring of support from his fans and colleagues alike.

Fadlan, who has over 1.4 million followers on TikTok, rose to prominence last year after he began posting comic impressions of everyday people, such as restaurant employees, and celebrities like Sarwendah and Nia Ramadhani Bakrie.

Indonesia currently does not have a dedicated government-run suicide prevention hotline, but if you or anyone you know is suffering from depression and/or contemplating suicide, you can get more information and resources from several local NGOs dealing with mental health and suicide prevention, such as intothelightid.org.
